Althouse was a New Mexico pioneer in home performance testing.
- Infrared scanning
- Infrared cameras see BTUs escaping and locates thermal bypass. Once
areas of heat loss are identified, the most economical measures to cut
a heating bill can be selected.
- Infiltration testing
- Air leaks in a homes' exterior can be located with a blower door
test. A blower door is also required to prove the tightness of a home
for Energy Star.
- Duct testing
- 30% of the heating bill of the City of Albuquerque is leaks in duct
work. A duct blaster can find leaks in existing ductwork or
prove air tight ducts for Energy Star.
