The comfort level of a home is determined by radiant surface temperatures. It is extremely important that no ceiling, wall or floor surface is cold. High room temperatures will not overcome the drafty feel of a room with cold walls.

Comfort tips

bulletThermal bypass (the ability of cold air to go through or around insulation) should be completely eliminated by proper blocking in in framing details before insulating.
bulletAll penetrations in exterior and interior skins are fully air sealed.
bulletAll voids at wall junctions,  corners and headers should be drilled and blown full of insulation.
bulletGive special thermal bypass attention to every break in plane throughout the structure- wall/ceiling junctions, drop soffits, built in bancos, fireplaces, nichos, parapets.
bulletTwo story homes need special thermal bypass attention at the band joist at floor edges.
